 Chuzzle is a game where multi-colored fuzzballs, called chuzzles, are moved and positioned in a 6 x 6 board to form three similar chuzzles in a row. Much like Bejeweled, the chuzzles explode when the three-in-a-row is made, the remaining space is filled with chuzzles from above it and new chuzzles appear from the top.
More than the gameplay, the game’s main draw are the cuteness of the chuzzle characters which are fuzzy colorful furballs with round beady eyes that shift sideways while you’re playing.
Aside from regular chuzzles, there are also special characters that will appear throughout the game:
- Fat Chuzzles: These characters will occupy four board pieces when such an area is available. They are an added difficulty as they make dragging to another spot difficult due to its size.
- Super Chuzzles: These are chuzzles with a halo around them. You can get one after exploding five chuzzles at the same time. When the Super Chuzzle is used in a cluster, it will cause ALL the Chuzzles immediately around it to explode.
- Locked Chuzzles: Locked chuzzles are an additional difficulty. They cannot be moved and appear periodically throughout the game.
There are four game modes in Chuzzle:
- Classic: Gives you ample time to make the best move possible.
- Speed: Features a lock meter which, when filled, adds locked chuzzles into the game; as moves are made, the meter is depleted. As you explode chuzzles, a beaker is filled. Filling the beaker will allow you to move on to the next level.
- Zen: This is a free movement game where you can move your chuzzles at will. There are no locks or levels, but you can earn bonus items called charms.
- Mind Bender: This is a puzzle mode where your chuzzles need to end up in specific positions.
There are other features to the game including:
- Trophies: These are awarded for completing certain events in the game, such as the “Chuzzbomber” which you can get after exploding 1,000 Super Chuzzles.
- Scrambles: These are bonus moves which you can use when the board is stuck due to locks.
- Chuzzle Behavior: Chuzzles can be poked, dizzied, tickled, irritated and put to sleep. They also have various behaviors like squeaking (with increasingly high pitch the more you poke it), laughing, coughing, sneezing, complaining, belching, and sleeping.
