How To Kick Bejeweled Ass

When playing Bejeweled, your goal is to make as many points as you can during your play on the board. As simple as the game is, there are tactics you can employ to make your play a little more strategic and optimized for gaining winning scores.

Time Trials

When you’re playing against a limited time, it’s best to attack moves from the bottom. Try to get your combinations from the bottom gems instead of from the top. This will give you more chances of scoring more points with the same move. When gems match up from the lower areas, the gems on top of them will go down, giving you chances to get more three-in-a-rows with only a single move.

Regular Play

In regular play, it is best to play combinations from the top.

Even though scoring will be slower, playing with focus on the highest gems has been a guaranteed way to increase the length of play. Focusing on the top-level combinations allows you to see relationships quickly as you don’t have to bother with analyzing the rest of the stack as usually happens unconsciously when you play for the bottom gems.
